Toyota India has launched its new venture, a digital showroom that allows interested customers to experience and even book a car online. Christened ‘Wheels on Web’, this service is currently available only in the Bengaluru region.
- Payments can be completed online
- Toyota claims the current virtual showroom has 13 lakh visitors annually
Wheels on Web is an extension of the 'virtual showroom' that was launched in 2021, and that platform too allowed users to experience the interior and exterior of the car through the website, without having to download any separate application. Toyota says the platform has now been made more consumer-oriented. According to the Japanese manufacturer, sales have increased by 5 times, and the company’s e-bookings increased by 20 times compared to previous years, with over 13 lakh visitors on the site annually.
Toyota Wheels on Web: finance and payment
One of its key differences is that Toyota WOW (Wheels on Web) allows users to make purchases on the site, a feature that was promised back in 2021. Customers can choose from a variety of accessories, add-on services and even extended warranty packages, all while browsing the site.
In addition to this, the website gives users an option to either make the full payment for their vehicle or carry out a down payment, all completely digitally through a secured payment gateway. Toyota also has the option to choose the ideal finance scheme that is offered by various financial institutions.
Toyota Wheels on Web: vehicle status tracking
Apart from the payment facilities, the website also provides the option to check the status of a booking. Once your car is booked and till the moment it is delivered, Toyota will also send you emails and Whatsapp messages regarding its status. The carmaker says this facility will promote customer transparency.
Another important feature of Toyota WOW is that customers can get their cars evaluated online from the comfort of their homes. In any case, there is also the option to schedule a real-life inspection of your old car, which will be conducted at your doorstep.
Toyota Wheels on Web: regions and models
As mentioned above, the service is currently launched in Bengaluru only. It is also important to mention that all models will not be sold on this digital platform – currently only the Hycross (gasoline), Hilux, Legender, Camry, Fortuner and Innova Crysta (GX) are offered on this site, while cars like the Glanza, Urban Cruiser Hyryder and Vellfire miss out. Currently, Mahindra also offers a digital showroom experience for the Scorpio.
