It's no secret that the automotive industry has been in a bit of a slump in recent months, however the October 2019 sales reports finally suggest a positive growth, with Maruti Suzuki continuing to top the charts. Maruti Suzuki is now looking to capitalise on this break and push sales further by offering discounts on the BS6 petrol variants of the Alto, Wagon R, Swift and Dzire. We have compiled a list of all the discounts available across the carmaker’s BS6-compliant petrol range, below.
Maruti Suzuki Alto
Save up to Rs 60,000
Formerly known as the Alto 800, the model recently received a facelift that saw the name change to simply Alto, dropping the ‘800’ moniker. The updated Alto also got more standard safety features like ABS with EBD, a driver’s side airbag, rear parking sensors, a driver and co-driver seat-belt reminder system and a speed-alert system. More notably the entry-level hatchback got a BS6-compliant, three-cylinder, 796cc petrol engine which puts out the 48hp and 69Nm of torque. Arena dealers are now offering discounts and benefits worth up to Rs 60,000 across the country on the BS6 petrol Alto. Some remaining stock of the pre-facelift model is also available with a similar discount.
Maruti Suzuki Dzire
Save up to Rs 55,000
The third generation of the Dzire compact sedan was introduced to our market back in 2017. The model boasted class-leading cabin space and featured a well-proportioned design. Maruti Suzuki updated the Dzire in July, earlier this year, with additional safety equipment and a BS6-compliant version of the 83hp, 1.2-litre K12B petrol engine. The diesel engine was not upgraded to meet the upcoming BS6 emission norms as Maruti will stop selling diesel-engine cars altogether, by early 2020. Prospective buyers of the Hyundai Xcent, Ford Aspire and Tata Tigor rival can avail discounts and benefits to the tune of Rs 55,000 via Maruti Suzuki’s Arena dealers across the country.
Maruti Suzuki Swift
Save up to Rs 50,000
The Maruti Suzuki Swift is also in its third generation and is (arguably) one of the most popular hatchbacks in our market. Discounts worth up to Rs 50,000 can be had on the BS6 petrol Swift at most Arena dealerships. Like with the other models on this list, the Swift, too, was updated with more safety equipment and a BS6-compliant version of the 1.2-litre petrol engine which now produces 83hp and 113Nm of torque.
Maruti Suzuki Wagon R
Save up to Rs 30,000
The Wagon R is Maruti’s tall-boy hatchback offering – a grounds-up, all-new model arrived at the start of 2019 with new styling and improved equipment levels. The carmaker also introduced a BS6-compliant, 1.2-litre petrol unit, which is offered with both 5-speed manual and AMT gearbox options. Discounts and benefits worth up to Rs 30,000 can be had on the BS6-ready petrol variants of the hatchback via Maruti dealers.
