Maruti has quietly introduced a more feature-laden S-cross line-up in the Indian market. As we reported earlier, rear parking sensors, a speed alert system and a passenger seat belt reminder are now standard across the range.
With this update, the mid-spec Delta trim gets even more equipment. Additions on the variant include a smartkey feature with push-button start – which was earlier available only on the higher-spec Zeta and Alpha trims – automatic climate control, cruise control, rear wash/wiper and auto-folding mirrors with integrated turn indicators.
The S-cross is available with only a 1.3-litre diesel engine good for 90hp and 200Nm of torque, mated to a 5-speed manual. There is no automatic gearbox on offer. Key rivals include Hyundai Creta, Renault Captur and the Mahindra XUV500.
The additional equipment has led to the prices of each S-cross variant to swell up. Given below is the updated list:
Variant | Old price | New price |
Sigma | Rs 8.61 lakh | Rs 8.85 lakh |
Delta | Rs 9.42 lakh | Rs 9.97 lakh |
Zeta | Rs 9.98 lakh | Rs 10.45 lakh |
Alpha | Rs 11.32 lakh | Rs 11.45 lakh |
(All price ex-showroom, Delhi).
