Tata Motors is readying a mild update for its Tigor compact sedan. Currently, the Tigor is one of the slowest-selling models among the company’s new-generation cars, which also comprises the Tiago, the Nexon and the Hexa.
Tata Motors has released a first set of teasers that give a glimpse of what to expect from the updated Tigor’s exterior. The headlights get chrome inserts and the tail-lights get clear lenses on the top-bit, which give the car a more premium look. Additionally, the updated car will also debut a new paint shade.
On the inside of the car, sources tell us that at least the Tigor's top-spec trim could get a 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system that doubles as a reverse camera display. This system is likely to be set-up with both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
The Tata Tigor is available with two engine options – a 1.2-litre petrol mill and a 1.0-litre diesel motor. The petrol variant can be ordered with a 5-speed manual or AMT gearbox, while the diesel variant only has a 5-speed manual on offer.
The above updates are to help Tata motors get a bigger slice of the pie in the highly competitive compact sedan segment which includes popular models like the Maruti Suzuki Dzire and the new Honda Amaze.
