Volkswagen India and Orix Auto Infra have signed a MoU to offer leasing solutions to Indian customers. Orix is a wholly owned subsidiary of Orix Corporation, Japan. The collaboration comprises of a retail leasing solution, which will initially be offered in six cities – Delhi, Mumbai, Pune, Chennai, Hyderabad and Bengaluru. Gradually, the program will be extended to other cities as well.
This collaborative retail leasing solution will include insurance, Volkswagen’s 4EVER Care program – four-year standard warranty & RSA – and vehicle registration. The customers have the choice to choose the leasing solution with or without maintenance, depending on their requirement. The monthly lease rental for the Volkswagen model range will start at Rs 17,647 and cater to start-up entrepreneurs, MSMEs, salaried individuals and corporate professionals. Customers can avail the leasing offer for a minimum two-year period, to a maximum period of four years.
The signing of this MoU means that Orix will be able to provide a rather large variety of models to lease including Honda, Jeep, and Volkswagen’s sister brand, Skoda.
The German brand is currently in process of upgrading its current range for BS6 compliance. The company will introduce a new 1.0-litre TSI unit in the Polo hatchback and the Vento sedan in India in the coming months.
Additionally, there are plans to introduce an all-new SUV in early 2021 that will be a product spun off as part of the new India 2.0 project. This new SUV will be previewed as a concept at the upcoming Auto Expo 2020 in February.
