Volvo C40 Recharge design, powertrain and features
The Volvo C40 Recharge is the coupe-SUV version of the XC40 Recharge SUV. The 4.4 metre-long EV also features a steeply raked windscreen and redesigned tail-lights. The C40 Recharge gets Pixel LED headlights, a first on any Volvo model in India.
The C40 Recharge comes with features like a vertical, 9.0-inch portrait-style infotainment unit; a panoramic sunroof; wireless phone charging; a 360-degree camera; ADAS tech; powered front seats with driver-side memory function, and heating and cooling; a dual-zone climate control system; and a premium Harman Kardon sound system.
The electric coupe is powered by a dual motors – one on each axle – that make 408hp and 660Nm, and helps it sprint from 0-100kph in 4.7 seconds. It gets a 78kWh battery pack for a WLTP-claimed range of 530km. The reason the range is drastically improved over the XC40 Recharge – with which it shares a powertrain – is because of the new generation battery cell technology and the aerodynamic shape.
