    Beijing motor show 2016 report

    The ongoing Beijing motor show saw some new models from the country's biggest manufacturers alongside key cars from other Western carmakers. Here’s a list of the most notable cars on display at China’s biggest car show.

     

     

     

    Audi TT RS

     The hottest version of the latest Audi TT is capable of 400.47hp from its 2.5-litre, five-cylinder petrol engine, and will go on sale in international markets in both coupé and roadster forms from October.

    Audi A4 L

    This stretched version of the Audi A4 will be offered with a 2.0-litre petrol engine in China. The substantial increase in legroom indicates more space in the cabin, especially at the rear.

    Bentley Mulsanne First Edition

    Just 50 examples of Bentley's range-topping Mulsanne will be built, with each receiving bespoke exterior and interior trims.

    BMW X1 Li

    The long-wheelbase version of BMW's baby SUV is 79mm longer than the standard car, and will be sold exclusively in China with two petrol engines; the most powerful of which makes 231.16hp.

    DS 4S

    The latest car from Citroën's luxury brand will be sold only China, and will get the option of two 1.6-litre petrol engines.

    Infiniti QX Sport Inspiration

    Infiniti's latest SUV concept previews the next QX70 SUV, and features futuristic exterior and interior styling.
     

     

     

     

     

     

     

     

    Jaguar XF L

    The stretched XF L is the first locally built Jaguar for the Chinese market. It rivals the likes of the Mercedes E-class LWB which was also showcased at the same show.

    Mazda CX-4

    As the name suggests, the China-only CX-4 sits in between the CX-3 and CX-5 in Mazda's line-up, and is inspired by last year's Koeru concept car.

    Mercedes-Benz E-class LWB

    Like Jaguar, BMW and Audi's stretched models, the E-class LWB's extra length is felt most in the rear, where passengers can enjoy an extra 134mm of legroom.

    Porsche 718 Cayman

    The sister car to the recently launched 718 Boxster, the 718 Cayman gets 349.78hp from a 2.5-litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine in the range-topping Cayman S form.

    Renault Koleos

    The Koleos name makes a comeback on Renault's new large SUV. The new Koleos will be sold in 80 markets around the world, starting with China later this year. It could eventually make its way to India too.

    Smart Fortwo and Forfour Brabus

    German tuning firm, Brabus has modified the Smart Fortwo and Forfour and has upped the power along with adding unique exterior and interior bits.

    Volkswagen T-Prime Concept GTE

    Volkswagen's new SUV concept previews the next-generation Touareg SUV, and features a plug-in hybrid powertrain.
