Chevrolet unveiled the Cruze Sport6 SS concept car at the Sao Paulo motor show. The concept car is aimed at performance car enthusiasts.
To cater to this specific market the Cruze Sport6 SS concept has been equipped with a 1.4 litre, turbocharged petrol engine which produces 300hp. The car has also received some sporty accents like the front splitter, rear diffuser and roof-mounted spoiler to name a few. The car on display at Chevrolet’s stand was finished in a bright red paint scheme with gloss black 20-inch wheels and gloss black accents, and some of the badges were blacked out to tie in with the sporty theme.
On the inside, the layout is very similar to the standard Cruze sold in the US. However, the concept car has received sporty bucket seats fitted with four-point race style harness finished in red, sporty pedals with aluminum finish and gloss black inserts dotted around the cabin.
Chevrolet has not mentioned any launch date as the idea behind the Cruze Sport6 SS is to showcase the company's design language and gauge market response to the concept car.
The manufacturer had sold the previous generation of the Cruze in India, and had at a point considered launching the latest generation model in the country. However, these plans were haulted as parent company General Motors haulted all domestic sales and are using their current production facility to churn out cars for export markets.
