Citroen recently announced the launch and booking details of its upcoming C3 Aircross, which will be the brand’s fourth model in India. With this, Citroen will be setting foot into the fiercely competitive, and now slightly crowded midsize SUV segment, where the Kia Seltos and Honda Elevate have caused quite a stir recently. We have now learnt of the features that will be available on the top-spec Max trim of the C3 Aircross.

    Citroen C3 Aircross variants detailed

Citroen will launch the C3 Aircross with just one powertrain – a 110hp, 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox – and the fully loaded Max trim will be offered in both five- and seven-seater configurations. An automatic gearbox option is expected to join the line-up at a later stage. As for its place among its rivals, Citroen India brand head, Saurabh Vatsa, says it will be positioned in the middle of the segment.

Here's a look at all the key features you’ll get on the Citroen C3 Aircross Max:

    • Halogen headlamps
    • LED Daytime Running Lamps
    • 17-inch diamond cut alloys
    • Front fog lamps
    • Dual-tone paint shades (optional)
    • Removable third-row seats
    • 10.25-inch touchscreen
    • 7-inch digital instrument cluster
    • Wireless Apple CarPlay, Android Auto
    • 4 speakers + 2 tweeters
    • Steering mounted audio, phone controls
    • Connected car tech
    • Manual AC with heater
    • Roof-mounted rear AC vents (7-seater only)
    • One-touch auto down for all four power windows
    • Keyless entry
    • Electrically adjustable wing mirrors
    • Tilt adjustable steering
    • Manual height adjust for driver’s seat
    • Rear defogger, wiper and washer
    • Rear centre arm rest (5-seater only)
    • Dual Airbags
    • ABS, EBD, ESP
    • Hill hold assist
    • Tyre pressure monitoring system
    • Reverse camera and sensors

Citroen C3 Aircross: what does it miss out on?

Novelty is perhaps the only way of getting noticed in this segment, and sure, the C3 Aircross brings that with the 5+2 modular seating configuration, but feel-good features are also most sought-after by buyers in this segment.

The C3 Aircross can’t quite be called as bare-bones as its hatchback sibling, the C3, for it covers the basics. Crucially, essentials such as electrically adjustable wing mirrors, a rear parking camera, rear defogger, wiper and washer will be available at launch on the C3 Aircross, while, on the C3, they were added much later with a new top-spec Shine trim. So, Citroen has clearly learnt from what it got wrong with its first mass-market product for India.

However, there are still quite some misses as per segment standards. A sunroof, let alone a panoramic unit, is entirely missing from the C3 Aircross, as are niceties like wireless charging, ventilated seats, fancier digital screens, automatic climate control, LED headlamps, powered driver’s seat adjustment and six airbags. The C3 Aircross is certainly not as well specced as rivals, and therefore, pricing it right will be crucial if Citroen wants to capture an appreciable share of the midsize SUV pie.
