The Citroen C5 Aircross, the French carmaker’s first model for India, will be launched on April 7, 2021. Bookings for the SUV are currently open and all customers booking before April 6 will avail a complementary 5 year/50,000km maintenance package.

Citroen C5 Aircross: Variant details
As mentioned earlier, the C5 Aircross will be available in two variants – Feel and Shine with both offering a fair bit of kit. Standard equipment on offer will include auto headlamps and wipers, a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, an 8.0-inch touchscreen, dual-zone climate control, hands free parking, powered driver seat, puddle lamps, a tyre pressure monitor and more. The fully-loaded Shine variant only adds in three unique features – a panoramic sunroof, hands-free tailgate and LED headlamps.
The C5 will also pack in plenty of safety kit as standard including 6 airbags, ESC, traction control, hill start assist and hill descent control and a blind spot monitor.
Unique to the Citroen will be the rear seat which comprises of three individual seats that can slide, recline and fold to free up space for passengers or luggage.
Citroen C5 Aircross: Engine details
The Aircross will go on sale with a single diesel engine – a 2.0-litre diesel engine developing a meaty 177hp and 400Nm of torque. The unit will be paired with a 8-speed automatic gearbox as standard. The SUV also comes with the company’s Progressive Hydraulic Cushion suspension set-up that is said to be able to filter out bumps and dips in the road and provide occupants with a suppler ride. Citroen C5 Aircross: Availability and expected price
Citroen will retail the C5 Aircross via its La Maison dealerships located in 10 cities across the country. Prices for the SUV are expected to start around the Rs 30 lakh mark with Citroen already having commenced local assembly of the premium SUV at the CK Birla facility in Thiruvallur, Tamil Nadu. The French brand will introduce a sub-four-meter crossover as its second model sometime early next year.
