Fiat recently took the covers off the retro-styled Grande Panda SUV, showing its exterior. While the brand has yet to show the new Grande Panda’s interior officially, pictures leaked on the internet give us a clear idea of what to expect from the SUV’s cabin.

Fiat Grande Panda interior: what do the images reveal?

Like its predecessors, the Grande Panda sticks to a five-seat layout. The Citroen C3-based SUV, however, has a unique design inside, which goes with its funky exterior. While the positioning of the AC vents, infotainment screen and instrument cluster are similar to the C3, the overall look and feel are completely different and appear much more premium.

The styling is circular-ish: angular edges have been smoothened out by rounded surfaces, especially around the instrument cluster, infotainment screen, AC vents and other panels. There’s generous use of light and dark contrasting shades with a colour palette meant to appeal to the youth. The Fiat name features prominently on the steering wheel, bang in the middle. The centre console continues with the rounded theme; there’s generous use of a piano black plastic finish with a contrasting border. The lower bit of the dashboard looks similar to the C3; the switchgear, while not clearly visible, is also expected to be shared between the models.

Fiat Grande Panda: platform and powertrain

Stellantis has built the Grande Panda on the CMP (or Common Modular Platform), which is also used in the Citroen C3, Opel Frontera, and a few more upcoming models from other Stellantis brands. Just like the C3, most of these models will also have pure-EV derivatives, depending on the market and demand.

The Grande Panda will come with more than one powertrain: the international-spec C3’s 200km and 327km electric systems and the mild-hybrid 100hp, 1.2-litre, three-cylinder turbo-petrol engine.
