Honda Cars India is planning to increase prices of all its models from January 2016, a company spokesperson told Autocar India.
The price hike would be in the range of Rs 10,000 to Rs 16,000 per vehicle, the spokesperson said adding that the decision to raise prices was taken primarily due to rise in input costs coupled with the depreciation of the rupee.
With this, Honda joins a slew of carmakers such as Hyundai, Nissan , Toyota and Skoda as well as luxury carmakers such as BMW and Mercedes-Benz who have recently announced a hike in prices of its vehicles owing to challenging market conditions caused by increasing component costs.
The company’s product range in India includes Brio, Jazz, Amaze, Mobilio, City and CR-V, which are rolled out through its two manufacturing facilities at Greater Noida, U.P and Tapukara in Rajasthan.
