    India low priority for McLaren

It’s not enough to have great cars, you need dealers to sell them. Newcomers to the supercar game, McLaren, has already begun to accept a raft of new dealers from around the world. Of the 35 planned in the initial stage, approximately 22 have already been selected and opened.

We caught up with Ron Dennis, executive chairman of McLaren Automotive, at the Paris Motor Show to ask him when the cars would be available in India. “It’s most likely to happen towards the end of the 35 new outlets we’ve planned,” he said, continuing to say India wasn’t an immediate priority. Reactions from Asian and Middle East markets to the cars have been very positive and some new dealers are facing a shortage of cars. More than 500 applications were received for the first 35 outlets, and McLaren is expecting some expansion soon, depending on demand.
