Update: Hyundai Creta launched in India at Rs 8.59 lakh
The Hyundai Creta’s interior, like all the modern-day Hyundais, features a dual- tone shade. The dashboard is attractive without being over-styled. There is a largish screen present on the centre which is likely to house a touch-screen- based infotainment system on the higher-spec cars. The all-new SUV, which is slated for an India launch on July 21, is likely to get push-button start and steering wheel-mounted remote telephony controls. On the safety front, one can expect ABS and dual front airbags to be standard on the Creta. It is as long as the Duster and wider than most of its competitors which means one can expect generous interior room for five passengers.
The Hyundai Creta is expected to be powered by two engine options – the 1.6-litre 121bhp and the 1.4-litre 88bhp diesel. There is likely to be a petrol option too in the form of the 121bhp 1.6-litre motor. The vehicle seen in the spy photos gets projector headlamps and 16-inch alloy wheels. However, there could be another higher variant which is likely to get 17-inch alloy wheels and additional equipment. The Hyundai Creta, which shares a lot of running gear with the Hyundai i20 hatchback, is set to rival the likes of the Ford EcoSport, Renault Duster/ Nissan Terrano twins and the upcoming Maruti S-Cross.
Hyundai dealers have already started accepting bookings for the Creta SUV and the launch is scheduled to take place on July 21, 2015.
