Mahindra unveiled the KUV100 compact SUV’s exterior styling a few weeks ago, but details of its interiors are yet to be unveiled officially. However, a few spy photos that have surfaced that give us a fairly good look at the KUV100's interiors ahead of its official launch which will take place on January 16, 2016.

The compact SUV will come in four variants – K2, K4, K6 and K8. The pictures revealed seem to be of the top-spec K8 variant. We had earlier reported that the KUV100 is likely to come as a six-seater, and with the spy shots it has been confirmed that even the top-spec trim will be sold in a six-seat layout. It gets a bench seat for the front row, just like the Datsun Go with the gear lever moved to the dashboard. The handbrake lever is positioned below the centre console, and gets a pull-type mechanism, first seen on the Toyota Qualis and Datsun Go. The KUV100’s cabin gets a single binnacle instrument cluster, with two rectangular AC vents that sit on top of the centre console. However, the infotainment system does not get the touchscreen feature, but does come with a display for multimedia information. Below this are three vertically positioned HVAC switches.

With the KUV100, the carmaker has introduced its new family of engines named mFalcon. These include diesel and petrol derivatives. We were the first to reveal Mahindra's plans of launching an all-new engine line-up. The petrol motor on duty will be a three-cylinder 1.2-litre engine churning out 82bhp at 5,500rpm, while the diesel will also be a 1.2-litre, three-cylinder unit good for 77bhp. The KUV100 will come with a five-speed manual gearbox, with an AMT-equipped model expected to join in later.

Mahindra will offer a safety pack that includes dual airbags across all four variants. ABS will be standard across all trims.
