Italian supercar marque Lamborghini will unveil its electric supercar concept on August 18 at Monterey Car Week in California. The carmaker had recently confirmed that its electric car – a 2+2-seater grand tourer – will debut globally in 2028.

    1. Lamborghini EV will be a 2+2 GT
    2. Will get styling inspired by the Estoque concept

In a social media post, Lamborghini teased the upcoming concept, and although the picture does not give much away, it reveals a familiar Lamborghini silhouette but with some bolder, contemporary design cues towards the front and the rear.

The all-electric GT concept could take inspiration from the Lamborghini Estoque concept, which was unveiled in 2008 but never made it to production. However, this isn’t the Italian giant’s first tryst with the 2+2 GT segment – previous models such as the 400 GT 2+2, Espada, Islero, and the Urraco were all 2+2 grand tourers.

This electric GT will have higher ground clearance than the current supercars in the company’s line-up as a result of its floor-mounted battery pack, albeit less than the Urus SUV. CEO Stephan Winkelmann has said that it will be more practical and useable than the Huracan or Revuelto, but it won't be a crossover. It will also have more radical styling to highlight the difference in powertrain from other Lamborghinis.

In 2029, the carmaker plans to launch an electric Urus, exactly a year after the four-seater GT goes on sale.

In India, Lamborghini currently sells the Urus S, Urus Performante and the Huracan. Later this year, Lamborghini will launch the Revuelto hybrid, which replaces the Aventador. There's no information about its price yet, but after adding customs duty and taxes, it is expected to cost around Rs 10 crore on road. Lamborghini announced that the Revuelto is sold out until 2026.
