Mercedes EQS 450 SUV range, battery and performance
While the Mercedes EQS 450 SUV 4Matic shares the 122kWh battery pack with the 580, its motors have a lower combined output of 360hp and 800Nm, down from 544hp and 858Nm in the 7-seater. The MIDC range of the EQS 450 SUV is 820km, which is just 11km more than the 580. Mercedes claims a 0-100kph time of 6.1 seconds, which makes the 5-seater 1.4 seconds slower than the 7-seater EQS SUV. The German brand also claims similar charging times – a 10-80 percent charge using a 200kW DC fast charger will take 31 minutes, while it'll take the battery 6.25 hours to charge from 0-100 percent using a 22kW AC wall box charger.
Mercedes EQS 450 SUV interior and exterior highlights
As mentioned above, the 450 is a 5-seater, and while the layout of the front half of the interior is the same, there's a large boot behind the rear bench seats. The features list is shared between the two variants and includes the 56-inch Hyperscreen setup – a 12.3-inch instrument cluster, front passenger screen, and a 17.7-inch touchscreen infotainment system. A 15-speaker Burmester audio system, a 360-degree camera, 4-zone automatic climate control, soft-close doors, puddle lamps and illuminated running boards, along with Level 2 ADAS, nine airbags, and more, are standard.
On the outside, the 450 features 21-inch alloys painted in black and what Mercedes calls the Electric Art Line. This gives it a less aggressive look than the AMG Line trim seen on the 580.
Mercedes EQS 450 SUV bookings and delivery details
Mercedes says that bookings for the entry-level EQS SUV have begun and deliveries will start in February. The brand has also mentioned that the EQS SUV 580, which was launched in September last year, has already been sold out, and the next allocation will arrive in April.
