Meru Cabs launches in-app payment system

Meru Cabs has just introduced its mobile application with an in-app payment option, one touch booking, and ability to track the cab and an option to get a confirmed booking up to seven days in advance. The in-app payment facility is called Cab Wallet, and it has been made possible with the radio taxi service’s partnership with Citrus Pay.

Mr. Amrish Rau, Managing Director, Citrus Payment Solutions Pvt. Ltd added, “Time is of utmost importance in today’s fast paced world and we understand consumer's need and preference for faster ways to make payments in a secure manner. Citrus Cash fills this requirement effectively with its zero-click checkout process and has been designed to provide maximum convenience to users.”

Speaking about the app Mr. Siddhartha Pahwa, CEO Meru Cabs said, “We see increased adoption of smart phones and we understand how a good Cab App makes the travel experience enjoyable. The Meru Cabs App gives control and convenience in the hand of the customer.”

Uber, another car rental service, recently launched its services in India, allowing customers to book, track and pay for the service with cashless transactions. This updated mobile application is most likely aimed at going head-to-head with the San Francisco based company.  Meru Cabs has been one of the most popular radio taxi services in India, and has seen tremendous growth over the past few years.
