Mahindra-owned SsangYong is readying a new variant of its Rexton SUV called the Rexton RX6. The new Rexton RX6, like its other variants, is powered by a 162bhp, 2.7-litre, five-cylinder, turbo-diesel motor, sourced from Mercedes and will be offered with a five-speed manual transmission.
The Rexton RX6 will come all features available on the top-end automatic RX7 variant such as memory function with three presets for the driver’s seat position and wing mirrors, electronic sunroof with sunblind, automatic headlamps, rain-sensing wipers and all-wheel-drive system. It will also get premium leather upholstery, a leather-wrapped steering wheel and an eight-way electrically adjustable driver’s seat. Also on offer will be LED daytime-running lamps, and LED tail-lamps.
SsangYong has sold around 3,600 Rextons since its launch and this attempt to offer all features of the top-end variant with a manual gearbox is an attempt by Mahindra to combat slow sales for the SUV.
