Porsche has issued a recall for the 911, 718 siblings and Panamera to fix a faulty central locking wheel nut. The German performance brand has notified SIAM of the recall, noting that 911s and Panameras produced between September and December 2023 have been affected by this issue.

    1. Total of 11 Panamera, 911 and 718 models recalled
    2. 911 (992), 718 GT4 RS (982), 718 Spyder RS (982) and Panamera (YAA) recalled

The recall affects a total of 11 units of the 911 (992-gen), 982-gen 718 Cayman GT4 RS and 718 Boxster Spyder RS, and Panamera (YAA) manufactured during the last four months of 2023. The central locking wheels are a standard fit on the 718 RS models, but are optional extras on the 911 and the Panamera.

SIAM’s document explains that there is a possibility that the wheel attachments that use the central wheel lock may not meet standards. The faulty wheel screw can lead to the damage or breaking of the locking nut, which in turn could cause the wheel to detach.

As is usually the case with these recalls, Porsche India is expected to reach out to owners of the affected vehicles to replace the faulty part free of charge.
