The new Renault Duster AWD is slated to enter showrooms very soon. We take a look at the differences on the new car over the regular model.
Firstly, as the name suggests, it comes with all-wheel-drive instead of the standard front-wheel drive setup. The all-wheel-drive system will be available with three modes – two-wheel drive, auto and four-wheel lock and these can be changed on the go.
The Renault Duster AWD will come with the same 108.5bhp 1.5-litre diesel motor as in the RxZ variant and will be mated to the same six-speed manual gearbox.
The other highlight on the Duster AWD will be an all-wheel independent multi-link suspension as opposed to the non-independent torsion beam setup in the front-wheel-drive car. Also on offer will be Renault’s Electronic Torque control system, which helps distribute torque among all wheels and allows torque balance at high speeds.
There will also be a Hill-start assist feature and a new Eco mode which according to Renault, would help reduce fuel consumption by up to 10 percent. The carmaker claims a fuel economy of 19.72kpl for the Duster AWD.
Additional equipment on the Renault Duster AWD will include a new soft-touch dashboard, an all-new instrument cluster with a multi-information display, a leather-wrapped, three-spoke steering wheel and new burnt-red fabric upholstery. Also on offer will be a new gear-shift indicator and cruise control.
Expect Renault to price the Duster AWD around Rs 70,000 more than the top RxZ variant.
