Mere days away from the Auto Expo 2018, we can now confirm that Tata will bring the Tamo Racemo sportscar to the show, where it will be the star exhibit at the brand’s ‘Performance Zone’.
The two-seat, mid-engined sports coupé was first unveiled at the 2017 Geneva motor show, where it was showcased with a 190hp, 1.2-litre, turbo-petrol engine. Interestingly, the Racemo bagged the German Design Award in the Gold category for International Excellence in ‘Exceptional Product Design’, in October, last year.
Also on display at the Tata Performance Zone will be sportier versions of the Tiago hatchback and Tigor sedan. Tata tied-up with Jayem Automotives last year to make more exciting models. The first fruits of the partnership – branded JT Special Vehicles Pvt Ltd – will be on display at the Auto Expo as the Tiago Sport and Tigor Sport. Tata has teased the design of the new performance models, which is based on the manufacturer’s new Impact Design 2.0 philosophy.
Besides featuring a sporty body kit and a lowered and revised suspension setup, the performance versions of the hatchback and compact sedan are likely to be powered by the Nexon’s 110hp, 1.2-litre, turbo-petrol engine mated to the same six-speed manual gearbox. There is currently no information on when these more-focused versions will go on sale.
