Apart from showcasing production versions of its upcoming Nexon compact SUV and the Hexa, Tata is displaying creations by its personalisation studio with customised versions of the company’s portfolio.
One of these personalised models is the Safari Storme Tuff. The concept shares its mechanicals with the top-spec Safari Storme Varicor 400, meaning that it is powered by a 2.2-litre turbo-diesel engine developing 154bhp and 40.79kgm of torque paired with a six-speed manual gearbox with shift-on-the-fly all-wheel drive.
In terms of styling, the Safari Storme Tuff has been designed to handle rough terrain. It gets new metal bumpers with winches to help overcome any obstacles. The ground clearance has been raised while the flanks get the addition of steps for easier ingress and egress. The SUV also gets an all-weather tent on the roof along with an LED light bar to provide additional illumination in low light situations.
Inside, the Safari Storme gets water resistant seat covers along with a heads-up display with navigation and a tyre pressure monitoring system.
Other products by Tata’s personalisation studio at the Auto Expo includes a customised Hexa badged as the Hexa Tuff, a customised Zica hatchback and a Zest compact sedan equipped with a host of accessories.
