The continuing sales slump that the Indian automobile industry is currently undergoing has prompted Ford India to officially offer a number of discounts and benefits on select models in its line-up. This takes the form of cash discounts, an exchange bonus and attractive finance rates (7.99 percent instead of the usual 9-10 percent) on models like the Freestyle, Aspire, Figo and EcoSport. Interestingly, the Endeavour is not officially on discount, though dealer-level benefits will be on offer for the SUV. Ford’s Mustang is does not come with any official benefits either.
Ford Aspire
Save up to Rs 30,000
The enthusiast’s choice in the compact sedan segment, the Ford Aspire is well-equipped and comes with an excellent ride and handling package. The rival to the Maruti Suzuki Dzire, Hyundai Xcent and Tata Tigor is available with three engine-gearbox options – a 96hp, 1.2-litre petrol-manual; a 123hp, 1.5-litre petrol-automatic; and a 100hp, 1.5-litre diesel-manual. All variants of the Aspire are officially on offer with a cash discount and an exchange bonus worth Rs 30,000, along with a 7.99 percent rate of interest on loans taken to buy the car.
Ford Freestyle
Save up to Rs 25,000
Unlike the Figo, its cross-hatch counterpart is only available with two engine options – the 96hp, 1.2-litre petrol engine and the 100hp, 1.5-litre diesel motor. Like most cars from the American carmaker’s stables, the Ford Freestyle is fun to drive and comes with a high level of safety kit, especially on the higher-spec variants. Ford is officially offering its rival to the Maruti Suzuki Ignis and Mahindra KUV100 NXT with Rs 25,000 worth of benefits as well as the finance scheme.
Ford EcoSport
The Ford EcoSport and its traditional rivals, like the Tata Nexon and Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, are facing more and more competition in the compact SUV segment, due to the entrance of the Mahindra XUV300 and the Hyundai Venue. The EcoSport – which stands out for its strong build and peppy engines (a 123hp, 1.5-litre petrol, a 125hp, 1.0-litre turbo-petrol and a 100hp, 1.5-litre diesel) – now officially comes with Ford’s finance scheme.
Ford Figo
The recently launched Figo facelift improves on the previous model by a decent margin, as Ford has added more equipment, replaced the older 1.2 and 1.5 petrol engines with new, more powerful (and efficient) ones and tweaked the design to keep it fresh. Compared to its competition – the Maruti Suzuki Swift, and Hyundai’s Grand i10 Nios and Grand i10 – the Figo is the value pick that also delivers on Ford’s fun-to-drive promise. The hatchback is available with the same finance scheme as the EcoSport.
