Leading Indian automotive artist, Vidita Singh has been invited to display her automotive artwork at the Pebble Beach Concours, which will be held at Monterey, California, on August 26, 2018.
Vidita Singh will be the Automotive Fine Arts Society’s (AFAS) guest artist this year and will be exhibiting her body of artwork at the AFAS marquee tent, on the 18th fairway of the Pebble Beach golf course.
Her art, displayed in oil on canvas, water colours and charcoal, will be exhibited alongside works from well-known artists such as Tom Hale, Dennis Hoyt, Ken Eberts, Barry Rowe and Jay Kok, among others.
Commenting on the opportunity, Vidita Singh said, “To be selected by the Automotive Fine Arts Society to show at Pebble Beach, and to be exhibiting amongst the automotive artists I admire is an honour and a dream come true. I hope my work does justice in portraying the fantastic history India has with cars, to the international automotive community.”
Princess Vidita Singh, hailing from the royal family of Barwani (an erstwhile royal kingdom in Madhya Pradesh), is the first artist to represent India in the international automotive art world and has done solo exhibitions in New Delhi, Mumbai, Hyderabad and Hong Kong. She has been a part of exhibitions at the Cartier Concours d’Elegance, and her work has also been auctioned by Christie’s at Royal Bridges art convergence held in Dubai. She was commissioned by Ford India to create a painting for Ford Motor’s Centenary Celebrations and, on a separate occasion, by Hyundai India for artwork at their corporate office.
Autocar India was present at her first solo Mumbai exhibit at India Fine Art Gallery in 2016, where we had a chance to admire her artwork. Click here to read all about it.
