Land Rover has been one of the most iconic off-road brands for decades. The British brand is a part of the Jaguar Land Rover Group owned by Tata since 2008. Land Rover focuses mainly on SUVs of different sizes and proportions that are sold globally in petrol, petrol-hybrid and diesel powertrain options. The British SUV brand is currently readying electric SUVs that will launch later this year. Land Rover SUV line-up is split into three sub-brands: Discovery, Range Rover and Defender. The Discovery line-up consists of the Discovery and Discovery Sport, the Range Rover brand has models like the Range Rover, Range Rover Sport, Range Rover Evoque and Range Rover Velar under it and the Defender line-up consists of the Defender – in 90, 110 and 130 body styles – and the Defender Octa. The cheapest Land Rover SUVs are the Discovery Sport and Range Rover Evoque. The Discovery rivals the Mercedes-Benz GLC and the Audi Q5 SUV. The Range Rover Evoque’s price is similar to the Discovery, and the second-generation model rivals the Mercedes GLA and the Audi Q3. The oldest Land Rover SUV on sale is the Discovery, which was last updated in 2021. The Defender is the newest Land Rover SUV and the 110 body style is the most popular; it rivals the Mercedes-Benz GLE and the BMW X5 SUVs. Next is the Range Rover Velar, which has stylish looks and flush door handles. It is positioned between the Mercedes GLC and the GLE, and is available with petrol and diesel engine options. The Range Rover Sport is one of the newer SUVs in the line-up globally along with the Range Rover, which is the flagship SUV for the brand. The Range Rover is available with petrol and diesel powertrain options and the Range Rover Electric will be the brand’s upcoming new SUV in the coming months. The premium luxury SUV from the Tata-owned British brand is mostly made in India, but some variants are fully imported from the United Kingdom. Even before its formal introduction in India, there have been numerous Land Rover and Range Rover SUVs in the country privately imported by various consulates and celebrities. Some of these units have now become sought after and are part of popular classic car collections in India. The armoured Range Rover SUV, called the Range Rover Sentinel is currently a part of the fleet of the President of India, Droupadi Murmu, and the current Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi. The Range Rover Sentinel is also used by high-profile businesses like Reliance industries to transport Nita Ambani. LAND ROVER PRICE LIST MODEL Land Rover prices in India (ex-showroom) Discovery Sport Rs 67.9 lakh Range Rover Evoque Rs 67.9 lakh Range Rover Velar Rs 87.9 lakh Defender Rs 1.04 crore Discovery Rs 1.34 crore Range Rover Sport Rs 1.45 crore Range Rover Rs 2.4 crore
