Honda’s research and development arm for motorcycles and power products in India, Honda R&D (India) Private Limited, has opened its new Solution R&D Centre in Bengaluru, Karnataka.

Honda R&D Centre India: what will it focus on?
This new R&D centre will aim to bring advanced mobility technologies into electrified vehicle development more quickly. It will also work on software and connected services through “co-creating” open innovation by adopting technologies and ideas of research and development companies.
Bengaluru being an EV hub with a vibrant supplier ecosystem, Honda has also stated that the centre would work alongside multiple companies in the area to “develop new services and businesses that go beyond the scope of existing businesses and products from a long-term perspective”.

Honda has set a global target of achieving carbon neutrality in all its products and corporate activities by 2050. For the motorcycle business, in particular, the company aims to achieve carbon neutrality across the range during the 2040s.
