Indian racer KR Kabilesh secured his first international race win at the Malaysia Superbike Championship (MSBK) finale, held at the Sepang International Circuit. Competing in the MSBK 250 B class, the 14-year-old made it to the podium in both races – finishing P2 in Race 1 and winning Race 2.

Kabilesh started his racing career in the 2022 FIM MiniGP Indian championship before progressing to the National Racing Championship. He made his MSBK debut earlier this year, riding a Kawasaki Ninja 250R, and secured his first podium finish (with a pair of P3 results) at Round 3 in October 2024. He further improved on that at the finale.
In Race 1, he seized the lead early on but was passed by Indonesian rider Rakha Bima Saktiansyah on Lap 4. Kabilesh had to settle for second place, but he kept the pressure on until the very end, crossing the line just 0.014 seconds behind his rival.
He wrapped up his rookie MSBK season on a high note, securing a dominant win in Race 2. He surged ahead, building an impressive gap of 4 seconds over Saktiansyah to consolidate his lead. The Indonesian rider tried to close the gap but couldn’t match Kabilesh’s pace. After a strong final round, he finished the season fourth overall in his class, with a total of 81 points.
Of course, racing runs in Kabilesh’s blood; his father is none other than Rajini Krishnan, who has won an incredible 11 national championships, along with the Losail Asian Champion (600cc) and MSBK titles. This is just the beginning of the journey for Kabilesh, who is treading the very path his father once did.
