UM has launched two new cruisers, the Duty S and Duty Ace at the Auto Expo 2018. Prices for both motorcycles start at Rs 1.10 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) The Duty range will go on sale in July this year.
The Duty models will be the company’s most affordable offerings in India and will sit below the Renegade Sport S, in UM's line-up.The Duty gets a digi-analogue instrument cluster with a gear position indicator. Powering the Duty is a new 223cc single-cylinder, oil-cooled engine that makes 17hp at 8,000rpm and 17Nm of torque at 5,000rpm.
This engine is mated to a five-speed gearbox and sends power to the rear wheel via a chain. Taking care of suspension duties is a 41mm conventional telescopic fork up front and a twin hydraulic springs at the rear.
The bike rides on a 120/80 R17 tyre up front and a 130/90 R15 section tyre at the rear. Both models of the Duty have identical dimensions; they also share the same wheelbase of 1360mm. Both bikes have a 10 litre fuel tank capacity and identical ground clearance of 180mm.
UM has also said that it will launch a Rs 4.9 lakh entry-level bike by 2020.
