The Tayron is a replacement for the Tiguan AllSpace and a rival to the Skoda Kodiaq and Jeep Meridian. It is expected to arrive here by the third quarter of 2025. The Tayron will likely be offered only with a 2.0-litre petrol engine in India even though international markets get diesel and PHEV options. The SUV is effectively a new-generation Tiguan that has been stretched by 231mm to bring the option of a third row of seats and an extra 198 litres of boot space. Inside, it’s thoroughly modern and new-age VW, sporting a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster and a 12.9-inch infotainment touchscreen. It is expected to be priced around Rs 40 lakh (ex-showroom), and will likely be locally assembled.
