I'm looking to replace my 2012 Honda City with the Volkswagen Virtus, but when I took a test drive, I felt its 1.0-litre engine was underpowered. Is that the case?

Autocar India says: Powering the VW Virtus is the globally acclaimed 1.0-litre TSI turbo-petrol engine, renowned for punching above its weight when it comes to performance. Since you are used to a Honda City, you may have found the 1.0-litre's responsiveness a bit lacking, particularly at low city speeds, which led you to this conclusion.
However, this small capacity turbo engine requires you to modify your driving style to match its character. Do try and take a longer test drive once again, and keep the engine on-boost – spinning between 1,800 and 3,000rpm – and it would most likely leave you impressed with its strong acceleration and effortless performance.
