I have always dreamed of buying the Yamaha R15 as my first sports bike and I am soon ready to purchase the bike. Till now, no other bike has caught my attention in this segment but now after seeing the reviews of the new Hero Karizma, I am confused. Which one should I buy

Autocar India says: The Yamaha R15 has steadily grown into a bit of a cult motorcycle in India. It sells very well despite costing a huge amount more than any other 150 and also having a rather committed and uncomfortable riding position.

On paper, the Karizma has a lot going for it. It is heavier, but considerably more powerful and should be the quicker bike, at least in a straight line - although the Yamaha may still put up a strong fight on the racetrack.

Moreover, the Karizma has a handsome design and a kinder riding position - it will definitely be the more comfortable bike for regular use in the city. Logically, the Karizma is the better motorcycle and it costs less as well, when compared to the top spec Yamaha.

However, logic has never been a strong driver behind R15 sales and a big part of the bike’s appeal is in its design, image and desirability factor. We suggest you wait till you can take a test ride of the Karizma before making a decision. If you are looking for the better all rounder, the Karizma may win you over.
