My wife and I want to enjoy our retired life by exploring the country and we've planned several road trips. Owning a two-door Jeep has always been a dream of mine and I'm seriously considering a Mahindra Thar AT. Is it good for long distance touring?

Autocar India says: The Thar seems to be one of those items you want to tick on your bucket list, and it's purely an emotional purchase. Before you go ahead, however, do read our detailed road test where we have mentioned that its ride is very bumpy, and longer journeys won't be half as comfortable as they would in a similarly priced crossover or SUV. So, we'd strongly recommend that you take a longer test drive.

You could consider the Scorpio N instead, it is almost as capable and tough, but will be far more comfortable on longer drives. Wish you all the very best for your retired life and for your future travels.
