Honda has launched the much-awaited Elevate SUV in India, with prices ranging between Rs 11 lakh-16 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), it is available with a sole petrol engine and two gearbox options, which it shares with the City sedan. Its variant line-up, consisting of four trims, is also identical to that of the City. Here, we take a close look at all the features that you’ll get with each trim of the Honda Elevate.
The Honda Elevate is available in four trims – SV, V, VX and ZX. The 121hp, 1.5-litre, naturally aspirated petrol engine is paired with a 6-speed manual gearbox as standard on all trims, while the 7-step CVT automatic gearbox is available on all but the base trim.
Honda is offering the Elevate in six monotone colours – Phoenix Orange Pearl, Obsidian Blue, Radiant Red Metallic, Platinum White Pearl, Golden Brown Metallic, Lunar Silver Metallic, and Meteoroid Gray Metallic. Of these, the orange, white, and red are also available with a dual-tone Crystal Black Pearl finish, albeit only on the top-spec ZX trim.
Here’s what features each trim gets you:
Engine: 1.5 petrol MT
Engine – 1.5 petrol, MT/AT
Engine – 1.5 petrol, MT/AT
Engine – 1.5 petrol, MT/AT
The Elevate comes quite well-equipped even in its base SV trim, covering all the essentials, and only misses out on a touchscreen infotainment system. The VX trim promises great value for money with all necessities and then some. However, the top-spec ZX trim only adds a few feel-good features for a premium of Rs 1.40 lakh over the VX trim.
The Elevate rivals the Hyundai Creta, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder, MG Astor, Kia Seltos, Volkswagen Taigun, Skoda Kushaq, and the upcoming Citroen C3 Aircross. Compared to other midsize SUVs that get naturally aspirated petrol engines or lower-spec turbo-petrol units, the top-spec Elevate is the most affordable of the lot; only the Skoda Kushaq and Volkswagen Taigun have a higher starting price though.
