We had reported previously that there was a long wait for EcoSport deliveries, stretching to as long as nine months in some cases, but now some Ford dealers have stopped taking bookings of all the petrol models of the EcoSport, including the two 1.0-litre EcoBoost trims, because of excess demand.

What’s more, they have also stopped taking bookings of the top-spec diesel Titanium (O) trim, according to our sources. As for the rest of the trims, the diesel Ambiente and Trend trims have a waiting period of upto 100 days, while the diesel Titanium trim has a long waiting period of almost five months.

The Ford EcoSport is available in three 1.5-litre petrol trims (Ambiente, Trend and Titanium) coupled to a five-speed manual gearbox, while the Titanium trim in petrol guise can also be bought mated to a six-speed automatic transmission.

There is also the option of a 1.5-litre diesel variant that comes in four trims - Ambiente, Trend, Titanium and Titanium (O). The diesel variant comes mated only to a five-speed manual gearbox.

The EcoSport also comes with the 1.0-litre EcoBoost engine option, which comes in two trims, Titanium and Titanium (O). Again, this engine option only comes mated to a five-speed manual gearbox.
