Update: Hyundai Creta launched in India at Rs 8.59 lakh
The second model in the comparison is the upcoming Maruti S-Cross. The S-Cross is expected to launch sometime in early August, and will become available as a diesel-only model. Under the hood will be the tried and tested 1.3-litre diesel unit, badged DDiS 200, seen in nearly all diesel Marutis, and the new Fiat-sourced 1.6-litre diesel unit, badged DDiS 320. The S-Cross will be available in five trim levels — Sigma, Sigma (O), Delta, Zeta and Alpha. The DDiS 200 will be available in all trims, while the DDiS 320 will be restricted to the top three.

In terms of features, both models are quite well stocked. This is no surprise from Hyundai, as all the manufacturer's models come packed with substantial features. The S-Cross, however, comes as a pleasant surprise, as Maruti has packed its SUV with features solid enough to rival the Creta.
