The new Mercedes-Benz S600 flagship sedan has been unveiled at the Detroit motor show.

The twin-turbocharged V12 engine develops 516bhp and a massive 84.6kgm of torque from just 1900rpm.

The new Mercedes-Benz S600 will be launched worldwide in early mid-2014 in long wheelbase form as standard and will be fitted with Mercedes' new technology including Magic Body Control (which is controlled by sensors which scan the surface of the road ahead and send information to the suspension control system) as well as driver support technology including pedestrian recognition.

However, the S600 will not be the ultimate S-class model. The company is said to be planning a longer, even more luxurious model which will be sold under the 'Pullman' badge. This model effectively replaces the Maybach brand.
