2021 Ducati SuperSport 950: price

The SuperSport is a sport touring motorcycle that was on sale in India as a BS4 model, and now makes its return as a BS6-compliant machine. The base variant is priced at Rs 13.49 lakh (ex-showroom, India), while the ‘S’ version costs between Rs 15.49 lakh and Rs 15.69 lakh (ex-showroom, India) depending on the colour scheme.

The SuperSport 950 is the latest in a long and steady stream of launches from Ducati, all in an effort to keep its promise of 12 new launches in India this year. While the SuperSport’s engine and basic underpinnings have remained largely the same, there are a few key updates to this 2021 version.

2021 Ducati SuperSport 950: design

The most obvious change is to the styling. The SuperSport has been redesigned to bring it more inline with the latest Panigale design language, so it gets new fairings and new headlights, resulting in a rather sculpted-looking and intricate front-end, with the new LED headlights flanked by small air-intakes. The windscreen above has also been redesigned and Ducati says that the SuperSport is now more aerodynamic than before.

2021 Ducati SuperSport 950: features

While its output figures have remained unchanged, at 110hp and 93Nm, Ducati has thrown in a more sophisticated electronics package to help control the power. The SuperSport gets the latest Bosch 6-axis IMU platform, which facilitates aids like cornering ABS, lean-sensitive traction control, wheelie control and a bi-directional quickshifter. All these features are managed via the new 4.3-inch colour TFT display.

The unchanged bits are a 937cc, liquid-cooled L-twin engine (although it has been tweaked to meet the latest emission norms), trellis frame, 43mm Marzocchi USD fork, Sachs monoshock (both fully-adjustable), and twin 320mm discs with Brembo M4-32 monobloc calipers. The higher-spec ‘S’ variant is differentiated by its more premium Ohlins suspension.

2021 Ducati SuperSport 950: competitors

The SuperSport’s nearest competitor is the Kawasaki Ninja 1000SX. While it is also a sport tourer, it features a more powerful, inline-4 cylinder engine, and is considerably more affordable too (Rs 11.40 lakh). Another sport bike in this price range is the recently launched Aprilia RS 660 (Rs 13.39 lakh), which though down on displacement, can nearly match the SuperSport for horsepower.
