KTM has launched the updated 125 Duke at an introductory price of Rs 1.5 lakh.

  • The price of the updated model has gone up by Rs 8,000

  • Power figures remain unchanged

  • Weight has increased by 7kg

A few days ago, we were the first ones to reveal that KTM has updated its most-affordable offering, the 125 Duke for 2021. The company has officially launched it and confirmed that it gets the updates the 200 Duke recently got.

At the introductory price of Rs 1.5 lakh, the bike costs Rs 8,000 more than the BS6 one. However, the BS6 model witnessed an increase of Rs 7,000 over the older model which means the 125 Duke has seen a price increase of around Rs 15,000, this year.

2021 KTM 125 Duke styling

The entry-level Duke features a design that’s identical to the one you’ll find on the 200, 250 and 390 Duke. That said, it misses out on the LED headlight available with the 250 and 390 Duke and makes do with the halogen unit that’s found on the 200 Duke.

Like the 200 and 250 Duke, the 125 also carries forward its LCD instrument cluster. This is the same unit that’s quite informative, but misses out on Bluetooth connectivity that’s found on the LCD unit of the 390 Duke. This design update was expected as the 125 remained the only Duke on sale to not feature the sharper, more aggressive styling in line with the rest of the KTM Duke family in India.

2021 KTM 125 Duke engine and gearbox

The 125 Duke continues to produce the same numbers even after the switch from BS4 to BS6. It is powered by a 124cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine that makes 14.5hp and 12Nm and is mated to a six-speed transmission.

A big change on the 2021 KTM 125 Duke comes in the form of the updated frame. It now uses the trellis frame that’s seen on some of higher-capacity siblings which feature a bolt-on subframe.

The wheels, brakes, USD front fork and monoshock are the same as before. It also appears to be equipped with the same MRF tyres. However, 125 Duke’s fuel tank capacity has increased to 13.5 litres thanks to the larger tank that came with this redesign.

These changes have also resulted in a weight increase and the bike now weighs 7kg more at 159kg. The seat height, meanwhile, has gone up from 818mm to 822mm.

2021 KTM 125 Duke competition

The 125 Duke has no direct rivals, but its price puts it close to the Honda Hornet 2.0, TVS Apache RTR 200 4V, Bajaj Pulsar NS200 and the Yamaha MT-15.
