Triumph has taken the wraps off the 2021 Street Scrambler 900. The motorcycle features a Euro-5 compliant engine as well as new paint schemes and materials. In addition, the company has also introduced the Street Scrambler Sandstorm Edition.

2021 Triumph Street Scrambler 900: What's new?
To begin with 2021 Triumph Street Scrambler features a raft of styling updates. This includes a new brushed aluminium headlight bracket, new throttle body finishers, heel guard, and a new side panel with an aluminium number board. In addition, the seats are new as well, with an alcantara-like finish. While the rest of the body panels are the same, Triumph has also done away with the rubberised grip pad on the tank.
The 2021 Triumph Street Scrambler 900 is available in three colours – Urban Grey, Jet Black and dual-tone Matt Khaki and Matt Ironstone.
2021 Triumph Street Scrambler 900 Sandstorm Edition
Limited to 775 units worldwide, the Triumph Street Scrambler 900 Sandstorm Edition is an ode to Triumph's rides in the deserts of El Mirage, Mojave, Barstow and the Baja Peninsula.
While it is mechanically identical to the standard 2021 Triumph Street Scrambler 900, it features a number of cosmetic differences, including a unique Sandstorm paint scheme, with Matt Storm Grey and Ironstone highlights on the tank. Then there's the high-mount front mudguard, headlight grille, rubber grip pads on the tank and a tail tidy unit that incorporates an LED tail-light and the number plate.
Each Triumph Street Scrambler Sandstorm Edition will be shipped with a personalised certificate of authenticity that'll also bear the bike's VIN number.
2021 Triumph Street Scrambler 900: engine, suspension and brakes
The new Street Scrambler is powered a Euro-5 compliant, 900cc, parallel-twin, liquid-cooled engine that produces 65hp at 7,250rpm and 80Nm of torque at 3,250rpm; it is paired with a 5-speed gearbox. Triumph claims a high 16,000km interval between major service, which should reduce the overall cost of ownership.
The rest of the motorcycle – be it the frame, the suspension or the wheels – are the same as the previous model. To reiterate, the Street Scrambler has a steel, twin-cradle frame, suspended by a non-adjustable 41mm fork at the front and twin, preload adjustable shocks at the rear. The bike rides on a 19-inch front and 17-inch rear wheel, shod with Metzeler Tourance tyres. The seat height is pretty accessible, at 790mm.
Braking duties are taken care of by 310mm disc at the front with a Brembo caliper, and a 255mm disc at the rear with a Nissin caliper.
2021 Triumph Street Scrambler 900: electronics
There are no differences between the new and the old bike, when it comes to electronics. It gets switchable ABS and traction control, as well as three ride modes – Road, Rain and Off-road.
2021 Triumph Street Scrambler 900: price and availability
The new Triumph Street Scrambler 900 is expected to go on sale in India in the coming months. While Triumph hasn't revealed the prices, it says that the 2021 model is most likely to be priced at par with the outgoing model. For reference, the previous Street Scrambler was priced at Rs 8.55 lakh (ex-showroom).
