We’ve reported earlier that Ampere is gearing up to launch a new electric scooter in the coming months and it has been spotted testing on our roads as well. Now, the company has trademarked two new names – Nexus and Aspirus – and these will most likely find their way onto future Ampere EVs.
- New e-scooter based on NXG concept to debut soon
- Will likely be the company’s flagship when it goes on sale
The upcoming Ampere e-scooter is based heavily on the NXG concept showcased at last year’s Auto Expo and the name Nexus seems like a likely possibility for this upcoming Ampere EV. The company’s social media handles have been using the hashtag ‘the NEX big thing’ in reference to this scooter, which further augments this possibility.
This e-scooter will likely sit above the Primus in the company’s line-up, considering it appears to be a premium product with a large digital display, flush-mounted pillion foot pegs, all-LED lighting and even a front disc brake – an Ampere first.
The second name Aspirus could find its way to the NXU concept showcased alongside the NXG, which is targeted towards the B2B sector and last-mile mobility. However, it is too early to tell with certainty that this will happen. Expect more details to trickle in once the company makes an official announcement.
