As we had reported earlier, Hero has now officially relaunched the Passion Plus in India after it was discontinued with the onset of the BS6 norms three years ago.
Hero Passion Plus engine, underpinnings, features
The Passion Plus is the fifth model in Hero’s line-up to use the long-standing air-cooled, 97.2cc, single-cylinder ‘Sloper’ mill that makes the same 8hp and 8.05Nm of torque as it does in the HF and Splendor models. This engine is now OBD-2 compliant and E20 ready and is also equipped with Hero’s proprietary i3s start/stop tech.
Nestling this little mill is a double cradle frame suspended by a telescopic fork and twin shock absorbers. However, at 115kg, it is the heaviest Hero 100cc model. Stopping duties are handled by 130mm drum brakes at both ends. The Passion Plus’ cast alloy wheels are shod with tubeless tyres sized 80/100-18 at both ends.
The returning Passion Plus is available in three colours and comes standard with a self start, digi-analogue display and a USB charging port.
Hero Passion Plus price and rivals
At Rs 76,065 (ex-showroom, Delhi), the Passion Plus is the most expensive of all 100cc Hero models. In the hotly contested 100cc segment, Hero now has five bikes that go up against the newly-launched Honda Shine and the Bajaj Platina.
