Honda claims the issue is concerning the wheelie control which during acceleration may get activated and could potentially cause loss of balance. To fix this issue Honda will update the ECU of the affected units. This issue will be rectified free of cost at the BigWing service centre and will cover motorcycles that are no longer under  warranty.

Concerned owners can check on Honda’s BigWing website by submitting their vehicle identification number (VIN) or by reaching out to one of Honda’s BigWing dealerships across the country. Earlier this year Honda (HMSI) filed a patent for the all new Africa Twin in India. It remains to be seen if and when the Japanese company intends to bring the updated model to India. Currently the Honda Africa Twin is powered by a 1084cc parallel twin motor that produces 101hp at 7,500rpm and 112Nm at 5,500rpm. It tips the scale at 231kg and has a fuel tank capacity of 18.8 litres.
