To celebrate 30 years of its Ninja brand of performance motorcycles, Kawasaki has launched a special edition of its ZX-10R. The special edition was launched around the globe in 2014, but is now available in India too.
The Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R 30th Anniversary Edition comes with an attractive, white and green paint scheme. Also, special 30th anniversary logos make a discreet appearance, placed alongside each headlight. This special edition does not gain any extra power or mechanical changes over the standard version, and is still equipped with a 998cc, four-stroke, liquid-cooled engine. It develops 209.9bhp at 13,000rpm and 11.42kgm of torque at 11,500rpm. The ZX-10R superbike weighs just 201kg and is equipped with ABS brakes.
Kawasaki's first 'Ninja' branded motorcycle was the Kawasaki Ninja GPZ900R. It took the company six years to develop the GPZ, and the result was a new performance benchmark at the time. The motorcycle is equipped with a 908cc, four-stroke, in-line four-cylinder engine that even made use of four valves per cylinder and liquid-cooling. The GPZ900R was also the first road legal motorcycle that could achieve 240kph in its stock condition.
The Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R 30th Anniversary Edition costs Rs 15.90 lakh (ex-showroom, Pune), which is Rs 20,000 more than the standard ZX-10R.
