Mahindra two-wheelers has just exported its first batch of E-Ludix two-wheelers to its subsidiary Peugeot Moto in France. With this, the E-Ludix, manufactured in the company’s Pithampur plant in Madhya Pradesh, becomes the first made-in-India electric two-wheeler to be exported to the EU.
The E-Ludix is a moped-styled two-wheeler powered by a 3kW motor with a top speed limited to 45kph. Its performance and a weight of 85kg make it the equivalent of a conventional 50cc scooter. The Bosch batter on the E-Ludox weighs 9kg. A full charge takes 3hr and the e-moped has a claimed range of approximately 50km, with features like regenerative braking.
Anand Mahindra, chairman of Mahindra Group, tweeted, “Bon Voyage to our 1st batch of electric 2wheelers—Made in India. A global network helps: they’re being shipped to our subsidiary Peugeot Moto. And though it’s not viable yet to sell our genZe & Peugeot electric bikes in India, you can count on us being in the game at some point.”
