Italian marque Moto Morini revealed a new, off-road-focused version of its X-Cape 650 motorcycle, dubbed the X-Cape ADV-R. Showcased at the recently-concluded EICMA trade show, the ADV-R is essentially a hardcore, rally version of the X-Cape middleweight adventure tourer.

  1. Gets aluminium belly pan, full crash guards for better protection
  2. Powered by same 60hp, 649cc parallel twin as standard X-Cape

The ADV-R features the same underpinnings as the standard X-Cape 650 but with plenty of off-road hardware. It gets a redesigned seat for better off-road ergos, brake disc covers, golden wire-spoke wheels with chunky, knobby tyres and an aluminium belly pan and full crash guards for better protection. Moto Morini has also give the X-Cape ADV-R an SC Project exhaust system, ABS that can be switched off while riding off-road and a Garmin navigation system to track off-road routes.

Like the standard X-Cape, the ADV-R gets fully adjustable Marzocchi suspension at both ends and a 7.0-inch TFT screen. The engine is identical too, as it uses a 649cc, parallel twin, liquid-cooled engine that puts out 60hp. For now, the X-Cape ADV-R remains a one-off, as Moto Morini is yet to announce any plans to put it into production. But given the growing popularity of rally-style ADVs like the Yamaha Tenere 700 and KTM 890 Adventure R, the brand may just choose to roll it out as a new variant.

Should Moto Morini put the X-Cape ADV-R into production? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section.
