On August 15 last year, Ola Electric showcased four very futuristic e-motorcycle concepts, and now, the company’s CEO, Bhavish Aggarwal, has shared an intriguing image on social media. The picture shows a large battery pack cradled by a tubular chassis, thus giving away that this is going to be its upcoming electric bike.
- Front sprocket, chain final drive and footpeg are visible in the image
- Ola’s first e-bike could be shown as early as next month
- Ola leads India’s e-scooter market thanks to its strategy of not increasing prices
Ola electric bike: what we know so far
The four motorcycle concepts that Ola showcased last year were just that – very much in the concept stage. However, recently, the company patented three new e-bike designs that look more realistic.

The image shared on social media shows a battery pack that looks bigger than the one found on most Indian e-scooters, wrapped by a tubular frame. One can also see the front sprocket and a chain final drive. This is something similar to the Ultraviolette F77 Mach 2 and Matter Aera electric bikes.
What also confirms that this is an electric motorcycle is the presence of a footpeg – something not very common in scooters. At the very edge of the image, we can also see the start of a seat, and interestingly, that is almost at the same level as the top of the battery pack.

Ola Electric has a stranglehold on the e-scooter market thanks to its strategy of not increasing prices in the face of an ever-reducing subsidy landscape. The company’s S1 electric scooter line-up is priced between Rs 74,999 and Rs 1.29 lakh (ex-showroom, India).
The company is known to make big announcements on August 15. If the last few years are any indication, the first electric bike from its stable could very well break cover on that day. Stay tuned for the latest developments on this matter.
