The Royal Enfield Shotgun 650 has been around for quite a while now, with the company showing off the SG650 concept a couple of years back at EICMA 2021. RE decided to debut its Super Meteor 650 before the Shotgun, but now, fresh sightings of the Shotgun 650 indicate that the bike appears production ready.

Royal Enfield Shotgun 650: what can be seen?
These new photos give us a good look at the muscular looking headlamp shroud, which, if the Scram 411 is anything to go by, will be a cast aluminium unit. Like the Super Meteor 650, this bike gets a USD fork and alloy wheels, although the wheel sizes will probably differ from the Super Meteor’s 19-inch front and 16-inch rear combo that is designed to create a cruiser stance.
The images suggest that the Royal Enfield Shotgun 650 will have a different fuel tank design, while the look of the chassis and minimal bodywork along the side is quite similar. The big difference along the sides is the mid-mounted foot peg position rather than the forward pegs on the Super Meteor. The rear section, with its single round brake lamp and wide indicators, looks a lot like the Super Meteor though.
Expect the engine on the Shotgun 650 to be the same as the Super Meteor who’s air-cooled 4-valve 648cc parallel twin engine kicks out 47hp and 52Nm. The final drive gearing and overall state of tune might be slightly different on the Shotgun, but if so, expect the differences to be minimal.
Royal Enfield has a lot in the works right now, including the soon to be launched upgraded Interceptor 650 and Continental GT 650. Then there’s the highly anticipated Himalayan 450 (and a Roadster and Scrambler on the same platform) that we expect to launch later this year. There’s also the new Bullet 350 that surprisingly still hasn’t gone on sale yet. The company is even working on a new EV that could debut in 2024.
Given how much there is yet to come from RE, it's hard to say at the moment how the company plans to spread these launches out, but from the looks of it, the Royal Enfield Shotgun 650 looks ready to go on sale.
