Gogoro, a Taiwan-based battery-swapping firm, has partnered with Swiggy, for sustainable electric transportation to be used for its food delivery services. Under this partnership, Gogoro will provide its Smartscooters and battery-swapping infrastructure for Swiggy’s delivery fleet.
Mihir Shah, head of Operations at Swiggy said, "Gogoro's battery swapping technology represents a new generation of electric refueling that has proven successful on a mass scale for last-mile delivery, and we look forward to working with them to transform hyperlocal deliveries to be more sustainable and efficient in India."
This is in continuation with Swiggy’s commitment announced in 2021, to cover 8 lakh kilometers every day through EV deliveries.
In 2021, Swiggy had inked strategic partnerships with Reliance BP Mobility and Hero Lectro, and has claimed that this has enabled delivery partners to save up to 40 percent of the vehicle running cost, positively impacting their earnings.
