Tarun Mehta, co-founder and CEO of Ather Energy, tweeted a picture of the first Rizta rolling off the production line. Ather’s Rizta is primarily a family-focused electric scooter that was launched two months ago and is now gearing up to make deliveries by July. The Rizta is available in three variants: Rizta S, Rizta Z (2.9kWh), and the range-topping Rizta Z (3.7kWh).
The Rizta S, which comes with a 2.9kWh battery, has a claimed range of 123km and a top speed of 80kph.
The mid-spec Rizta Z has the same range and top speed as the entry-level variant but gets four more dual-tone colour options and a 7-inch TFT screen that supports Google Maps and Bluetooth connectivity. It also gets Ather’s SkidControl and Magic Twist, which enable traction control and regenerative braking, respectively. The mid-spec variant even has a premium seat along with a backrest for the passenger.
The range-topping Rizta Z gets all the aforementioned features along with a larger 3.7kWh battery with a claimed range of 159km.
While the base and mid-spec variants need a claimed 5 hours and 45 minutes to fully charge, the top-of-the-line Rizta can do it in 4 hours and 30 minutes.
Ather’s Rizta is available at an introductory price of Rs 1.10 lakh for the entry-level variant, Rs 1.24 lakh for the mid-spec variant, and Rs 1.44 lakh (ex-showroom, Bengaluru) for the range-topping version. You can click here to see how the Rizta fares against its closest rivals on paper.
